| المستخلص: | لقد تعددت وتنوعت المنظمات غير الحكومية المعنية بحماية البيئة والمحافظة عليها والحد من عمليات التلوث الحاصلة فيها ومن هذه المنظمات منظمة السلام الأخضر غير الحكومية التي أنشئت عام 1971 كرد فعل تجاه التجارب النووية التي كانت تقوم بها الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية في تلك الفترة بالقرب من سواحل ولاية ألاسكا، ولتمضي هذه المنظمة بعد ذلك قدماً من خلال جهود مضنية وحثيثة بذلتها من أجل حماية البيئة والمحافظة عليها معتمدة بالدرجة الأساس على مبادئ سلمية وبعيدة عن العنف والتطرف واستخدام أسلوب المظاهرات السلمية والاحتجاجات وكشف الحقائق تجاه الأعمال المضرة بالبيئة في محاولة منها لكسب الرأي العام الداخلي والدولي واستخدام ذلك كورقة ضغط للتوقف عن هذه الأعمال ذات التأثير الواضح بالبيئة والتي تقوم بها الدول أو المؤسسات أو الشركات ولتنجح في عدد من المساعي التي بذلتها في ذلك وعلى عدة جوانب وصور منها عملية وأخرى قانونية رغم التضحيات الكبيرة التي قدمتها في هذا الصدد ورغم قلة الإمكانيات المادية المتاحة لها ورغم الصعوبات التي تعترض طريقها متمثلة بالصعوبات القانونية والسياسية ورغم عدم الاعتراف بها كشخص من أشخاص القانون الدولي العام فقد تركت بصمة واضحة لا يمكن التغاضي عنها في مجال حماية البيئة والمحافظة عليها وتطوير القانون الدولي البيئي ولتكون أداة فاعلة في كثير من المؤتمرات الدولية التي يتمخض عنها عقد الاتفاقيات الدولية البيئية ولتشكل هي وغيرها من المنظمات غير الحكومية البيئية أداة لتدويل القضايا البيئية أمام منظمة الأمم المتحدة وأجهزتها المختلفة.
